The origins of a brand

1926

The Foundation

Vittorio Galli and Giovanni Volonte start the shoe manufacture Brunate. Exclusively high quality children's shoes are produced.

1939

The founder Vittorio Galli passes. His daughter Letizia of just 19 years assumes the management of the company and carries the immense burden of making a mark for the company during the second world war.

1943

The founder Giovanni Volonte passes.

1945

The oldest son of Vittorio Galli, Elia, returns from the war and joins the company.

1949

New beginnings

A huge fire completely destroys the production facility and the adjacent storage facility. Reconstruction follows shortly.

1955

The Galli heirs

Isaia e Costantino Galli, sons of Vittorio, join the company. Together the Galli heirs push forward the company with large success.

1957

Growth

The production facility in Lomazzo is enlarged. Additionally a facility is built in Tradate, 15 km away. The number of employees reaches 200.

1970

Success

Production is full. The high quality Brunate children's shoes are very popular in Italy and Europe.

1980

Economic turbulence particularly in the sector of shoe production affects Italy. Many firms have to close their doors. Brunate is successful in adapting to the challenging economic conditions.

1985

The company is strategically restructured and starts the production of women's shoes.

1990

The market of high quality children's shoes becomes more challenging. Brunate stops the production of children's shoes and concentrates completely on women's shoes.

1995

The children of Costantino and Isaia and thereby the third Galli generation enter the business.

2005

The third generation

The third generation assumes the management of the company.

2013

Costantino Galli passes.

2014

Expansion

Brunate opens its first Flagship Store. In the heart of the city of Munich, clients find an extensive and diverse collection of Brunate shoes.
